Naturalistic method of observation is the most commonly used method of data collection in research, in which a person or event is being observed in its natural setting without any bias or interference. Case study is the other method of data collection which mostly used in qualitative researches, where the study does not rely on number rather it does on the qualitative features. This method often gains the attention of criticizers and is scrutinized as non-scientific, but there are researchers strongly believe that this method can bring out wonders if someone with better qualification could carry out. Observation is the most common and effective method of data collection. There are studies in which more than one method of data collection is being used, again that depends on the study requirements. In other words mostly what matters is the researcher’s convenience. Certain methods are very accurate in nature and some others are cost effective and there are methods that consumes less time. Each data collection methods possess its own advantages and disadvantages, and that is what exactly guiding the researcher in selecting a method.
